Coronavirus Update

Our priority at Promis Life is to protect our customers and our people. We will do all we can to support you and the UK economy through this difficult period.
We would like to reassure you we're doing everything we can to minimise disruption to you and are working hard to continue giving our customers the service they need at this time.

Here are some things that you may want to know:

1.The Over 50s Life Insurance Promis and the Funeral Protection Promis do cover customers for COVID-19 (coronavirus) once the Accidental Death Period has passed.

The Over 50s Life Insurance Promis and the Funeral Protection Promis both have a 12 or 24 month Accidental Death Period. If you already have a policy with us check your paperwork to see which one you chose.

During the Accidental Death Period you are only covered for Accidental Death. This means, if you were to pass away in the first 12 or 24 months of your policy as a result of COVID-19 (coronavirus), you would receive a full refund of any premiums paid, rather than your full cover amount.

After the Accidental Death Period you are then covered for any cause of death including death by accident, illness or natural causes. 

2.Getting hold of somebody to talk to

If you have a question or two about your policy or our products, please call us on 0800 907 0796 and speak to our friendly team.

We're open Monday to Thursday, 9am to 7pm and Friday 9am to 5pm (except public holidays).

3.Making payments

We know there is a lot of uncertainty and that finances may be stretched, particularly now. If you are worried about being able to pay your premiums or have missed a premium and are struggling financially, call us and we can discuss reducing your cover amount and premium or other options that may be available..

Please, if you are struggling financially due to COVID19, we can help. Call us now on 0800 907 0800 and press option 2 for customer services to discuss your options. Don’t just stop paying or you risk your Plan being cancelled and you will no longer be covered.

 4.Policy documents and other correspondence

The vast majority of Post Offices are open. While Post Offices remain open policy documents and other correspondence will continue to be sent. Should this position change, and postal services are affected, we will update our customers on the website regarding other measures we will take to ensure documents continue to be sent to customers.

5.Making a claim

To make a claim, call us on 0800 061 2733 and one of our claims specialists will talk through everything that’s needed. This is the time for us to really help, so that is exactly what we will do. 6. Gift Cards
The vast majority of Post Offices are open. While Post Offices remain open Gift Cards will continue to be sent to eligible customers. Should this position change, and postal services are affected, we will update our customers on the website regarding other measures we will take to ensure Gift Cards are provided to eligible customers. 7. External information or support available 

There are several specialist organisations and charities that have helplines available where you can get advise about managing your finances or debt.

The Money Advice Service

Visit its website, contact its webchat online service or call one of its advisers for help on 0800 138 1677. As well as coronavirus information, the website also has an extensive range of guides and tools to help you manage all aspects of your personal finances from student debt to budgeting, buying or renting a home, starting a family, dealing with debt, state benefits and planning for retirement.

Debt advice charities

Stepchange

You can visit this debt advice charity’s website or use its free online advice service for information, help and advice on debt. You can also call on 0800 138 1111 but its website warns that the phone lines are very busy and there are fewer advisers than usual to take your call.

National Debtline

This national debt advice charity has a helpline that you can call on 0808 808 4000. You can also visit its website or use its webchat for help and advice on debt, if you’re worried about your job, need financial help or are having any difficulties paying your bills due to coronavirus.
